Caysen and the Fat Lip- January

So, the day before leaving for China, I took Caysen in to get two cavities filled. He wouldn't let our regular dentist fill them, so I had to get a special authorization to take him to a pediatric dentist to get it taken care of. They ended up giving him an oral sedative, that didn't help too much, and after many tears, they were able to put fillings in both teeth. Caysen was, of course, numb on both sides of his mouth, so the dentist gave me these cotton rods to put between the upper and bottom teeth so he wouldn't bite his lip. Well, let's just say that the cotton didn't exactly work and Caysen kept chomping on his bottom lip. Poor kid! It was so big, we were just praying for it to go down before our long airplane ride. These pics are at dinner (we ended up getting take out and ate at the hotel rather than embarrass him by eating at the restaurant!) and bedtime the day of his dental work.
